IHA Official Immediately Comments on Kako's Marriage Report as 'Regrettable’
On January 28th, at a regular press conference,
Takaharu Kaji, a close aide of the Akishino family, commented, "I think it
is regrettable that such an article should appear at a stage when there is no
announcement or anything about her marriage.” He requested that the media
refrain from speculating about the marriage and said, "I would like you to
watch over her quietly.”
It was only a short time after the fiasco
between Mako (30), the eldest daughter of the Akishino family, and Kei Komuro
(30) had died down that the second daughter, Kako (27), was reported to be
getting married one after another in the weekly magazines.
As for Kako, her passionate love affair
with the son of the president of Fuji Express emerged in 2017.
Most recently, at the end of last year,
"Shukan Josei" took a close look at a younger man, Mr. A (24), as a
potential new boyfriend. He is a graduate of the University of Leeds, where
Kako studied from September 2005 to June 2006, and is said to have been a close
friend of hers during their student days.
After graduating from the university, Mr. A
returned to Japan and became the representative director of a system
development company. He has completely denied any relationship or marriage with
Kako.
In addition, it was reported that Kako's
sister, Mako, may have visited Caroline Kennedy (64), the eldest daughter of
the late President John F. Kennedy and former ambassador to Japan, in New York
around last Christmas. Related to this, there are reports that Kako had a blind
date with Jack Schlossberg (28), Caroline's son, around 2015.
In response to those reports, the opening
remarks were made by Takaharu Kaji, a member of the Akishino family's
entourage.
It is unusual for the IHA to use such
strong words as "regrettable" and to react immediately to a weekly
magazine report that has only just been published, although there have been
times in the past when the Agency has complained about media reports.
Kako has long expressed her dislike for
some weekly magazines. It is no wonder that she was shocked and angry at the
fact that Mr. A was interviewed directly by them.
The IHA is likely to remain on high alert
for the time being.
