Classmate Bullying by Komuro
Three cases of bullying by Kei Komuro
against his classmates from his elementary school days have been reported so
far.
(1) The first
victim was A, a male classmate from the elementary school attached to the
National College of Music. A was a good
friend of Kei, but he started to be bullied by Kei in the summer of his fifth
year after Kei's father's suicide. Kei, together with the kid leader, bullied A
by calling him nicknames, singing songs that made fun of his nicknames,
deliberately not showing up for meetings with A, and laughing when he saw A
looking for Kei. He also kicked a ball at A at close range with several
classmates under the guise of soccer practice, shouted at A :"Don't come
to school!” from the classroom window. He was often absent from school and the
bullying continued until they both graduated from elementary school.
In addition, Weekly
Bunshun also interviewed another classmate from elementary school, B, who
admitted that there had been bullying of A, and that Kei had been involved.

(2) Around the
same time, Komuro was also bullying a girl two grades below him at the
elementary school attached to the music college. A source at the music college
testified that Kei took away a picture that the girl had drawn in class and had
been praised by the teacher during recess, and trampled on it with his foot,
defacing it. This was when Kei was in the fifth grade and the girl was in the
third grade.

3) Kei Komuro
bullied another female classmate, C, out of school during their junior and
senior years at Canadian International School (CIS); C then became a recluse for two years. This is
also reported by the Weekly Bunshun.
Ms. C has been the
target of bullying by several boys, including Kei Komuro, since her middle school
days at CIS. Kei was close to a bossy boy in his class, and together with this
boy, they would say to the slightly plump and quiet Ms. C, "A pig came
through. Booboo! He and the other boys made a lot of noise. They circulated
papers with the words "fat," "pig," and "ugly"
written on them in class and placed them on Ms. C's desk. The bullying went
unnoticed by the foreign teachers and students who did not understand Japanese.
In addition, when Mr. C made a presentation in front of the class, Kei and his
friends would strike a thumbs-down booing pose.
This bullying
continued day after day, and at the end of her first year of high school,
nearly four years later, C dropped out of CIS.
After leaving
school, she also saw a counselor, but the fact of the bullying was not revealed
to her parents. However, on the day that Princess Mako and Komuro's unofficial
engagement press conference was televised on TV, C panicked and said,
"This person bullied me." C's mother recognized Kei Komuro's face and
remembered Kei saying to C "ugly!”during a three-way meeting at CIS,

When I think of the feelings of each of the victims, I can only say that it is tragic. The Japanese people have already said NO to Kei Komuro's humanity, but will people abroad tolerate this kind of behavior from him?
