Kei Komuro Receives "JFK Award": a New Allegation of Career Fraud?
New doubts have been raised about Komuro's
biography posted on the website of Lowenstein Sandler, the law firm where Kei
Komuro is employed.
This is because it stated that Komuro had
received the "JFK Profile in Courage Award".
According to a report in the weekly
magazine "Josei Jishin" dated the 12th of this month,
The award, named after the book
"Courageous Men" by John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United
States, honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding political
leadership. The award is selected mainly from politicians and civil servants,
and former U.S. President Barack Obama and former U.N. Secretary General Kofi
Annan are among the past recipients. As a matter of course, Mr. Komuro, who was
only a student, should not have received this award, and his name is not found
in the list of winners.
Speaking of Komuro, when she entered
Fordham University, she was introduced on the university's website as
"Princess Mako's fiancée," which was pointed out to be a use of the
royal family. Now she has posted a false list of awards?
However, perhaps due to a series of
comments on the Internet, Mr. Komuro's profile was somehow rewritten. It now
read "Fordham's JFK Profile in Courage and Sweat Equity Award,"
emphasizing the fact that the award was given by Fordham University.

but unfortunately, it seems to have been
redacted at the time it was taken and is now listed as "Fordham's JFK
Profile in Courage and Sweat Equity Award " is the description.
Dear readers, if you have a screenshot of the law firm's website before the revision, please provide it to us.
JFK's foundation "does not give out
such awards."
"The magazine decided to contact the
JFK Library Foundation, which sponsors the original JFK Profile in Courage
Award. We received the following response from the head of the public relations
department.
The JFK Library Foundation is the
administrator of the JFK Profile in Courage Award and is the sole copyright
holder of the name. We do not have any relationship or partnership with Fordham
University, nor do we administer their award.
In addition, the press office of the
foundation replied, "Our foundation does not give out such awards.
The JFK Library Foundation is said to have had
no involvement in the rewritten "Fordham's JFK Profile in Courage"
award. Does this award, which the foundation says is "unofficial,"
really exist in the first place?
The award history is too puzzling. When
"Josei Jishin" magazine interviewed Komuro's attorney, Naofumi Uemishiba,
about the truth of the matter, he responded after confirming with Mr. Komuro
himself.
First, let's talk about creating a profile
and changing the notation.
The profile was written in the same way as
it is usually done in the U.S., mentioning the name of Fordham University and
then listing the awards, with the idea that it would be easy for people to
understand that the awards are internal to the university. It seems to have
been a very common notation in the U.S., but there were a lot of inquiries from
the Japanese mass media, so if there were people in the mass media who
misunderstood, the notation was revised with an explanation so that people
would understand. If there had been no inquiries, we would have left it as it
was," said Mr. Ueshiba.
It is true that the profile before the
rewrite says that he graduated from Fordham Law School in '21, followed by
"JFK in Courage Award". However, I don't think that's enough to
"easily convey" the message. ......
“The award is given to the person who
stands out the most.”
So what does this award recognize?
According to Mr. Ueshiba.
According to Mr. Ueshiba, the JFK Profile
in Courage and Sweat Equity Award is an award issued independently by the Legal
Clinic at Fordham University. The law school offers a number of educational
programs designed to train legal professionals, and the Legal Clinic is one of
these programs where students gain practical experience under the supervision
of an instructor and develop practical skills through this experience. The
Legal Clinic is one of these programs, which is designed to develop practical
skills through practical experience under the supervision of an instructor.
In other words, Mr. Komuro was merely the
recipient of an award given to students in the Fordham Law School's educational
program. Although the mystery of the award has been solved, a source at the
Imperial Household Agency complained:
"Even Mr. Komuro is suspected of using
the 'Imperial Family brand' for business purposes in the future. Some people
may misunderstand the original wording to mean that he received an award
approved by JFK's foundation. I think it would be detrimental to Mr. Komuro
himself if he is seen as "someone who is willing to use misleading
expressions to make himself look big. ......"
It has been reported that Kei Komuro is suspected of having included non-existent internships and awards on his resume submitted to other law firms.
