Mako and Komuro to Marry Today: Gap of Understanding
Mako, the eldest daughter of the Akishino family, and Kei Komuro are
expected to hold a press conference at a hotel in Tokyo in the afternoon on the
morning of October 26.
My personal feelings on this matter are as follows:
I'm fed up. To be honest, I want it to be over soon.
I don't expect much from the press conference, so I won't be
watching it live. Therefore, I won't report it in detail on this blog either.
Like many Japanese people, I spent my younger years without much
interest in the Imperial Family, and only in my 50s did I start to gather
information about it. As I became more interested in the subject, I was
astonished to learn how the current Emperor Emeritus and his wife and the
Akishino family have exercised privileges that would not be allowed under the
current constitution, how they have wasted taxpayers' money, and how they have
persecuted the current Emperor and Empress.
And then there was the Mako and Komuro fiasco, which made it clear
just how much influence Akishino Miya has in all sorts of areas and how much he
can do as he pleases.

privileges, see the following articles

In addition, at the press conference held
by the Imperial Household Agency on the 1st of this month, the voices of the
heartfelt citizens were dismissed as "slander", and since then, the
comment sections of news sites have become even more tightly controlled. For
example, even a simple statement of fact such as the one reported in this blog,
"Dr. Tsuyoshi Akiyama was the first Japanese to be elected president of an
international organization just before the election," is deleted as
slander.
Freedom of the press and speech in Japan is
one of the lowest among developed countries, and this has become even more
serious through this case. Among the critical public, there is a resentment
that says, "How are we different from China and North Korea?”
I have been told that many Westerners
interested in the Mako/Komuro marriage issue scoff at the critical attitude of
the Japanese. If you look through the information they rely on in the English
language, you will find that they have been given very limited information. That
is exactly the kind of information that is controlled by the Akishino family.
It is my sincere hope that the
English-speaking people who read this blog will realize this.
In particular, many people seem to have the
misconception that the only problem with the Komuros is their mother's debt
problem. The reason for this is that the Western press only reports on this
issue, but I would like you to take a look at the "other issues" that
this blog has reported so far and understand why Japanese people have such a
strong aversion to Komuro and his son.

As we all know, the Japanese people live in
a small archipelago that is prone to disasters, and because of their insecure
DNA, they have always valued mutual help, trust, and sense of duty. In some
ways, this has hindered their growth, but it has also given birth to Japan's
intricate industrial products and traditional crafts, and has helped to create
a culture of hospitality.
If you come to Japan as a tourist and are
impressed by the punctual trains, the warm hospitality, the hygienic streets,
and the safe society with few crimes, it is precisely this same culture that
rejects the "Komuros’ style.”
Once the Makomuro fiasco is over, this blog
will continue to focus on the developments of His Majesty the Emperor's family,
especially His Imperial Highness Princess Aiko, who will turn 20 years old on
December 1 this year, in line with its original mission.
